GoDaddy, a technology provider dedicated to small businesses, today launched a new marketing campaign for Gujarat in India. It is focused on helping small businesses and entrepreneurs create online identities.

The initiative will run in two of Gujarat’s small business hubs, Surat and Vadodara, throughout December 2014 and features, radio, social media and outdoor advertising, as well as promotional / offline activation in select beauty salons.

“GoDaddy is committed to helping small business owners flourish. This campaign furthers our commitment by enabling small businesses in Gujarat to effortlessly obtain a domain name and get online. Establishing an effective online presence will help these companies and entrepreneurs garner visibility, showcase their talent and find more customers online,” said GoDaddy India managing director and VP Rajiv Sodhi.

GoDaddy is focusing on small businesses in both Surat and Vadodara who don’t have an online identity, offering to build a complete online presence with a .COM domain name, website and hosting for one year. The backend infrastructure of .COM is managed by Verisign.

To create buzz around its latest commercial featuring NutCutLal, a hairdresser with a unique hairstyle, GoDaddy and Verisign offered free haircuts at prominent salons in Surat and Vadodra on December 6-7 to the first 100 walk-ins.

In the commercial, NutCutLal, famous in his small town for his signature haircuts, realizes that unless he gets an online identity, his fame might fade away and his talent will go unnoticed.
