It requires an understanding of how AI works, how to communicate with it clearly, and how to evaluate its responses responsibly.

To strengthen these skills, I completed the OpenAI AI Foundations course in July 2026. The programme offered a practical introduction to artificial intelligence while focusing on responsible AI use, prompt writing, critical thinking, and real-world applications of ChatGPT.

Beginner-Friendly Learning Experience

One of the strongest aspects of the course was its simple and accessible teaching style. Each module began with a short video lesson that explained AI concepts using clear language rather than technical jargon. This approach made the material easy to understand, particularly for beginners who may have little or no previous knowledge of artificial intelligence.

Practical AI skills begin with better prompts, critical thinking, and responsible use.

The lessons gradually introduced new concepts, allowing learners to build confidence while progressing through the course.

An important lesson throughout the programme was that AI-generated content should always be reviewed before use.

Artificial intelligence can occasionally produce inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated information. The course emphasised the importance of verifying important facts through trusted sources while applying critical thinking before relying on AI-generated responses.

This approach promotes responsible AI use and helps reduce the risk of misinformation.

Privacy and responsible AI practices received considerable attention throughout the course.

The programme also introduced several ChatGPT features that improve productivity, including file support, search capabilities, and preference-saving options.

Active Learning Encouraged Continuous Improvement

Instead of presenting AI as a purely theoretical subject, the course encouraged learners to practise continuously.

Regular activities helped build confidence in writing prompts, refining AI-generated responses, evaluating AI output, and recognising situations where AI should or should not be used.

This practical approach strengthened both technical understanding and decision-making skills.

Completing the Course

After finishing all learning modules, practical activities, assessments, and the final course recap, I completed the feedback survey and received the OpenAI AI Foundations Course Completion Certificate.

Receiving the certificate marked the successful completion of a structured learning programme focused on practical AI literacy and responsible technology use.
