Personal telepresence solution provider Vidyo has announced that its software platform will enable Wii U Chat, a video communication service that is included with every Nintendo Wii U console. The announcement was made today, Nov. 19.
Vidyo’s open platform allows game developers to embed video chat into their games.
“Through this collaboration, we’ll be adding Wii U consoles to the pool of Vidyo enabled systems which will build critical mass around Vidyo’s scalable architecture and software platform,” said Ofer Shapiro, CEO and co-founder at Vidyo.
The Vidyo communication and collaboration platform is software-based, flexible and can be customized for individual enterprise and vertical market video conferencing needs.
The VidyoRouter is based on the company’s patented Adaptive Video Layering architecture and leverages the standard based Scalable Video Coding (SVC) technology.
