TweetTV, a real-time social TV guide that groups and enhances TV-based conversations happening on Twitter, has raised $750,000 from angel investor Joe Kalfa.

TweetTV will use the funds to build and release mobile applications, hire talent, make enhancements to its proprietary algorithms, and power its upcoming partner and social rewards programs.

And, its cloud-based, embeddable “tweet rooms” go beyond generic hashtags to curate Twitter-based conversations happening around TV programs, adding enhancements such as filters, editorial content, fan polls, and multi-user video chats to the tweet-based TV conversations.

Founder and CEO Bradley Markham says, “I couldn’t be more excited about the future of TweetTV. Not all investors or investments are created equally, and in Mr. Kalfa, we found the perfect seed-stage investor who shares TweetTV’s vision to create a platform for meaningful social TV conversations and TV discovery tools that re-invent the TV guide.”

Says Kalfa, “I strongly believe in TweetTV’s vision for becoming the de-facto way for socially active TV viewers to engage with each other while watching TV.”

The announcement was made today, March 27, by TweetTV, which is based in Austin, TX.
