SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Intel and ChatPPT have announced a groundbreaking collaboration to launch the ChatPPT Intel AI PC Edition, a hybrid AI solution designed to streamline presentation creation while drastically reducing operational costs.
The new version of the smart app aims to solve a major pain point for office workers, who spend an average of 20 hours per month creating presentations, with eight of those hours dedicated solely to formatting. While ChatPPT previously relied entirely on cloud processing, the new edition introduces a hybrid AI approach that balances workloads between the cloud and local PC hardware.
Boosting Efficiency and Security
By leveraging Intel’s AI Super Builder V2.8 technology, the app now uses the cloud for complex tasks, such as generating 50-page slide decks, while handling smaller tasks like font and color changes locally on the PC. This shift addresses critical sustainability issues, including high energy costs and enterprise privacy concerns regarding sensitive data being shared with cloud-based models.
The results of this collaboration are significant: the Intel AI PC Edition has reduced cloud compute token costs by over 50% and boosted the duration of tool usage by more than 32% compared to the standard cloud-only version.
“Our partnership… exemplifies the power of collaboration,” stated Todd Lewellen, Intel vice president and general manager, PC Ecosystem and AI Solutions. “We are showing the power of using AI PCs to reduce cloud costs and deliver a more secure user experience”.
Deep Engineering Integration
The launch follows months of co-engineering between the two companies to resolve technical challenges, such as running complex, end-to-end workflows entirely on a local device. Using OpenVINO, the teams successfully compressed multiple AI models—including planning and generation agents—to run smoothly on a PC without overwhelming the system.
Jack Zhou, CEO of ChatPPT, noted that Intel’s technology provided the necessary framework to achieve a “complete on-device loop from content planning to final output”. He further credited the new Intel Core Ultra Series 3 and the latest Super Builder release for enabling the transition of more cloud models to local hardware.
The Road to 100% Local Creation
ChatPPT and Intel are already looking toward future milestones, including a goal to move document rendering entirely to the local PC for a 100% local creation workflow. Plans are also underway to introduce multimodal capabilities, such as intelligent chart generation, and to create specialized variants of ChatPPT for industries like finance, education, and business analysis.
“Intel is not just a technology partner, but a key enabler in our journey to deliver secure, efficient, and cost-effective on-device intelligent creation,” said Zhou.
