BOSTON, Mass. — At the Think 2026 conference, IBM announced a significant expansion of its AI consulting capabilities designed to help organizations scale artificial intelligence with greater control and business context. The announcement centered on new updates to IBM Enterprise Advantage, a first-of-its-kind asset-based consulting service that enables clients to build and operate their own hybrid-AI platforms.

According to Mohamad Ali, SVP and Head of IBM Consulting, the goal is to help businesses move beyond simply scaling AI to scaling it with sovereignty and control across multiple AI stacks. These new capabilities, along with IBM’s internal Consulting Advantage platform, are powered by IBM watsonx.

Key technological highlights from the announcement include:

  • Context Studio: Now available, this tool allows enterprises to create AI agents grounded in their specific organizational data and processes to ensure accuracy and performance at scale.
  • Process Studio: Coming soon, this capability will use AI agents to extract logic from thousands of legacy operating procedures to convert them into agent-ready workflows. In a recent pilot, these methods identified over 1,000 improvement opportunities, projecting a 25% reduction in operating costs for the client.

Real-world applications of these technologies are already being seen in major organizations. Providence, a large U.S. health system, used IBM watsonx Orchestrate to streamline its hiring process, resulting in managers spending 90% less time on hiring steps and caregivers being moved into new roles 12 days faster. Additionally, Pearson is collaborating with IBM on a new solution to certify and assess AI agents to ensure they possess the necessary skills for specific tasks.

IBM also announced expanded interoperability with SAP through the Agent2Agent (A2A) standard, allowing IBM Consulting Advantage agents to manage SAP’s Joule agents. Furthermore, IBM Consulting Advantage has achieved FedRAMP authorization and is now available on AWS GovCloud, providing federal agencies with secured access to these AI and automation tools while meeting strict government compliance and security requirements.
