The ongoing trends suggest that mobile Internet usage will overtake desktop Internet usage in 2014.
And currently mobile web browsing accounts for 50% of all web traffic.
Rendezvous Strategies, a boutique marketing agency, has released an infographic that depicts mobile usage trends and consumer behaviour.
It says that an average user checks their smartphone 34 times a day and 51% of consumers are more likely to buy from a mobile-optimized website.
Among its other findings, Rendezvous estimates that by 2016, 88% of local advertising will be delivered on a mobile device.
And by the end of 2013, there will be more mobile devices on Earth than the number of people here.
