John Henderson Joins Leadership Team at Answers

Answers, the world’s top destination for Q&A content, announced Monday the appointment of John Henderson to its leadership team.

Henderson brings more than 20 years of sales and management experience to Answers. He was most recently vice president of Sales for TripAdvisor where he handled the display business for the travel site.

Prior to that, he worked with major media companies including Sony, NBC, Disney and Turner Broadcasting.

In his new role at Answers, Henderson will be responsible for the strategy, growth, and management of direct sales initiatives across all Answers web properties and platforms.

Advertisers will be able to engage directly with the Answers audience across desktop, mobile, and social applications, through a range of personalized adverting products.

“John has a proven track record of leading successful advertising sales initiatives and he fills a critical need at Answers,” said Peter Horan, COO of Answers. “We are excited to have John on board to lead our advertising sales initiatives and to help connect brands to their target consumers.”

Henderson (pictured above) is the third senior executive to join the Answers team in the last six months. Peter Horan, former CEO of About.com and IAC, joined the company as chief operating officer (COO) in December 2012. Matt Derdeyn, who formerly served as senior VP of Charter Communications, was appointed chief financial officer (CFO) in January 2013.

“With the addition of these seasoned executives in key areas of our business, we have positioned Answers for future growth and success, including continuing to build the business through acquisitions, developing new streams of revenues and other strategic ventures,” said David Karandish, CEO of Answers.
