Tango Launches Content Platform for Gaming

Messaging app company Tango has launched a platform in partnership with mobile application developers in the gaming industry.

According to the company, the launch signals a companywide strategic step forward from a leading messaging app into a broad-based ecosystem combining communications and entertainment.

Tango also revealed it has cemented its first entertainment partnership with Gameloft, a top international publisher of digital and social games that developed “Candy Block Breaker for Tango” on iOS for the Tango platform.

“The launch of our platform is a significant moment for Tango,” said Uri Raz, Tango co-founder and CEO.

Tango is also working with other developers, such as Bubble Gum Interactive – a game development studio headquartered in Sydney, Australia, that developed “JetPack Jinx for Tango.” The game is also available on iOS for the Tango platform.

Both games are currently available on the iTunes App store and will be available on the Google Play Store in July.

Developers interested in working with Tango should visit www.tango.me/partners/ for information about the platform SDK.

Founded in September 2009, Tango is based in Mountain View, California.
