AOL Appoints Hugh F. Johnston to Board of Directors

Digital content company AOL Inc. (NYSE: AOL) announced Wednesday the appointment of Hugh F. Johnston, executive VP and Chief Financial Officer of PepsiCo, to AOL’s Board of Directors.

Johnston brings more than 25 years of finance and general management experience to AOL’s Board, including M&A, marketing, finance and strategy positions at PepsiCo and Merck Medco.

“We are thrilled to welcome Hugh to the AOL Board,” said Tim Armstrong, chairman and CEO.

Currently, AOL has an active search for independent Board members. Hugh compliments the AOL Board’s leadership, which spans media, internet/technology, brands and finance.

Hugh Johnston (pictured above) said, “AOL sits at the unique crossroads of technology, media, finance, and consumers. I believe the company has a strong future and I’m honored to join this prestigious board.”

Johnston, 51, holds a master of business administration degree from the University of Chicago and a bachelor’s of science degree in finance from Syracuse University.
