SUNNYVALE, Calif. (April 23, 2026) — LinkedIn announced a major leadership transition, naming veteran executive Daniel Shapero as its new Chief Executive Officer. Shapero, who most recently served as the company’s Chief Operating Officer, succeeds Ryan Roslansky in a move effective immediately.

Shapero is a long-standing insider at the professional networking giant, having joined the company in 2008 as a general manager for the LinkedIn Research Network. In his new capacity, he will be responsible for running the company and leading the executive team. He will report to Roslansky, who is moving into a new role as Executive Vice President of LinkedIn and Microsoft Office.

The leadership change comes as LinkedIn positions itself at the center of a workforce increasingly transformed by artificial intelligence. Roslansky emphasized the urgency of this shift, stating, “AI is going to transform how people work and grow in their careers faster than most people expect”.

As part of the management shuffle, Mohak Shroff has been appointed as the President of Platforms & Digital Work. Also reporting to Roslansky, Shroff will oversee technology strategy and long-term innovation across LinkedIn and related Microsoft initiatives, with a specific focus on shaping the future of work.

LinkedIn continues to demonstrate significant global scale, boasting more than 1.3 billion members and hosting over 70 million companies. The platform’s financial impact remains substantial, generating over $19 billion in annual revenue and accounting for 6.3% of Microsoft’s total annual revenue in 2025.

Despite the changes at the top, the company reaffirmed that its core mission remains the same: to connect the world’s professionals to make them more productive and successful.
