Vidyo, Inc., a video platform provider in healthcare, is offering video communications for Ebola patient Dr. Richard Sacra at the Biocontainment Patient Care Unit at the Nebraska Medical Center.
Vidyo’s software-based visual communications platform plays a key role in connecting family members, physicians and nurses with Dr. Sacra as his treatment continues in the isolation unit at the Center.
According to Vidyo, the Nebraska Biocontainment Unit is one of only four specialized units in the country and is equipped to safely care for patients infected with highly contagious diseases, like Ebola, and includes access to video conferencing for patients.
Via a secure Vidyo connection, Dr. Sacra can communicate face-to-face with his wife. In scenarios that are time-critical, the human interaction is provided through Vidyo’s platform.
“Vidyo enables physician-to-physician collaboration, physician-to-patient consultation and patient-to-family connections, providing peace of mind and comfort when in person visits are not possible, said Ofer Shapiro, CEO, Vidyo.
