SEOUL, South Korea — Samsung Electronics has announced an exclusive global partnership with legendary guitar manufacturer Fender to bring the Fender Play app directly to Samsung TV home screens. This collaboration introduces the world’s first TV-optimized edition of the popular online learning platform, designed to help users master guitar, bass, and ukulele from the comfort of their living rooms.
Announced on January 13, 2026, following a live preview at CES 2026, the app is scheduled for release in the first half of 2026. The service will be available on 2025 and later Samsung TV models across 49 countries, including South Korea, the Americas, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.
A Stage in the Living Room
The partnership aims to make musical education a seamless part of daily life. “By bringing Fender Play to TVs for the first time, Samsung is turning the largest screen at home into a place to learn and play together,” said Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics.
The app offers a comprehensive learning experience, including:
- Tailored Education Paths: Players can choose specific paths for electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass, or ukulele.
- On-Demand Lessons: A library of step-by-step, video-based lessons built around familiar songs, categorized by skill level.
- Jam Mode: This feature allows musicians to play along with curated tracks from various genres against fun backgrounds, effectively turning their TV screen into a virtual stage.
Celebrating 80 Years of Innovation
The launch of the app coincides with Fender’s 80th anniversary in 2026. Cliff Kim, VP of Growth Strategy at Fender and President of the Fender Play Foundation, noted that the partnership aligns with the company’s mission to inspire players globally. “This partnership gives music lovers the opportunity to learn, practice and play with Fender Play’s high-quality, interactive lessons directly on their Samsung TV,” Kim stated.
