SAN FRANCISCO — OpenAI has officially invited technical innovators to apply for its latest cohort of OpenAI Grove, a specialized initiative designed for individuals at the very beginning of their company-building journey. Unlike traditional startup accelerators, the Grove is structured to support “pre-idea” individuals who possess a deep curiosity for building within the artificial intelligence landscape.
The program offers a unique environment where participants can engage in co-building with OpenAI researchers and connect with a dense network of high-level talent. Over the course of five weeks, selected participants will be hosted at the OpenAI San Francisco headquarters for a curriculum that includes in-person workshops, weekly office hours, and mentoring sessions led by OpenAI’s technical leadership.
One of the most significant advantages for participants is the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with new OpenAI tools and models before they are released to the general public. Following the conclusion of the intensive program, attendees are empowered to explore various paths, including raising capital or pursuing other professional avenues either internally or externally to OpenAI.
OpenAI is seeking approximately fifteen participants for this cohort and encourages applications from individuals of all backgrounds, disciplines, and experience levels. Those interested in joining this long-term network must submit their applications by the January 12th, 2026 deadline.
Think of OpenAI Grove not as a racetrack for finished cars, but as a high-tech laboratory where the world’s most curious engineers gather to experiment with parts and engines before the first blueprint of a vehicle is even drawn.
