REDMOND, Wash., and PARIS — April 8, 2026 — Microsoft and Publicis Groupe have announced a significant expansion of their strategic partnership, aimed at developing a full-stack marketing solution to power the future of “agentic marketing” for global businesses. This collaboration follows ten years after the companies co-created Marcel, marketing’s first AI platform, and seeks to unify legacy systems with advanced AI agents and identity-based data.
A New Approach to Marketing Automation
As customer behaviors shift and companies face pressure to connect investments directly to revenue, this partnership aims to embed agentic AI across the entire marketing workflow. The goal is to automate repetitive execution tasks, such as autonomously identifying high-value customer segments and personalizing content, allowing human marketers to focus on strategy and original creativity.
The new solution is built on several key technical pillars:
- Modern Cloud Foundations: Organizations can use Publicis Sapient’s Slingshot framework to migrate legacy systems to Microsoft Azure, creating a native foundation for AI adoption.
- AI Agent Deployment: Utilizing Microsoft Copilot Studio and Sapient’s Bodhi platform, businesses can scale enterprise-grade AI agents across operations and marketing.
- Identity-Based Data Model: Unlike fragmented AI solutions, this partnership leverages Epsilon’s identity data to ensure AI agents act on trusted, real-world information to drive measurable business value.
Empowering Global Talent
As part of the agreement, Publicis Groupe is deploying Microsoft 365 Copilot to its entire global workforce of more than 114,000 employees. Additionally, Publicis has selected Microsoft Azure as its preferred cloud provider to strengthen its personalization capabilities at scale.
In a reciprocal move, Publicis has been named Microsoft’s global media agency of record. This arrangement will allow the two companies to co-innovate on Azure to better link audience signals with performance data, maximizing business outcomes for Microsoft’s own marketing efforts.
Leadership Perspectives
Publicis Groupe CEO Arthur Sadoun noted that the partnership combines Microsoft’s technology with Publicis Sapient’s transformation expertise and Epsilon’s data to create “game-changing” solutions for the agentic era. Sadoun emphasized that the future of AI requires “agents in service of people and humanity”.
Judson Althoff, CEO of Microsoft’s commercial business, echoed this sentiment, stating that the partnership provides “creatives and makers the freedom to spend less time on repetitive execution and more time shaping ideas”.
The initiative underscores a shared mission to make AI available broadly and responsibly, empowering organizations to achieve more in an increasingly digital landscape.
